What people wonder

EverSince is a snapshot calculator that turns your birth date into life statistics. Here are the questions we hear most often.

What is EverSince?
Enter your birth date and get 15 metrics at once — breaths, heartbeats, food, carbon footprint, and more. It's not a live counter; it's a one-time snapshot of cumulative averages at the moment you calculate.
How are the numbers calculated?
Core formula: seconds lived × (daily average rate ÷ 86,400). Time since birth is converted to seconds; a daily rate from literature or country snapshots is divided by seconds per day and multiplied. Formulas and source notes for each metric are listed on the How it works page.
Why no live counter?
A ticking counter feels like a medical device or constant tracking. EverSince deliberately shows a one-time snapshot: the number you see is the average accumulated up to the moment you calculate.
What does country selection change?
Carbon, electricity, and total water use country-specific Our World in Data snapshots. Body and consumption metrics use country-agnostic physiology averages; a global average option is available.
What does the personalization survey do?
An optional 19-step survey roughly adjusts some rates — e.g. activity for steps, diet for food, screen time for short-video scrolls. It does not claim scientific precision.
Is this medical or emissions reporting?
No. EverSince is not for diagnosis, treatment, or official carbon inventories. Every value is a general average for honest curiosity — not clinical or regulatory use.
Is my data stored?
Birth date, country, survey answers, and results may be stored on a secure server (Supabase) for product improvement. No personal identifiers are collected; see the privacy copy for details.
How do share links work?
Share URLs encode birth date and preferences as query parameters. Anyone opening the link can recalculate the same snapshot with those inputs.
What are the sources?
Footprint: Our World in Data and AQUASTAT. Body metrics: general references such as WHO, AHA, EFSA. Climate multipliers: Open-Meteo HDD18. Full list on the homepage Sources section.
Which 15 metrics are included?
Breathing, heartbeat, blinking, swallowing, sleep; food and drinking water; urine, stool, toilet time; carbon, electricity, total water; steps and short-video scrolls. Open the How it works page to jump to each metric’s methodology.
